Shaykh Nooruddeen,
I was in touch with Shaykh Seraj Hendricks of the Zawiyah Masjid in

the Zawiya to the Battawi family, and to pass condolences to you and
Hajjah Nourah, whom he shared a platform with in 1997.

As-salaamu ‘alaykum Wa-Rahmatullah-Wa-Barakatuh
‘To Allah we belong, and to Him is our Return. O Allah! Take me
out of my plight and replace it with something which is good’.
‘Due is to Allah that which He has taken away and His is whatever
He
has Given. With Him, everything has an appointed term; so have patience
and seek reward from Him’. ‘May Allah Magnify your reward,
and make perfect your bereavement, and forgive your departed’.
Sidi Abdullah Nooruddeen,
I send my deepest of condolences and while Shaykh Ibrahim al-Battawi
(Radiallhu Anhu - May Allah be pleased with him) will be missed, his
noble teachings will continue to live on, through all this students and
especially yourself, his live was dedicated in the teaching love of
Allah and the way of Imam Shadhili (Radiallhu Anhu - May Allah be
pleased with him)
Many years ago I was touched by an interview, that you did called
‘Sufism’ that aired on TV and I wished one day that I meet
you and give
you salaams, as you words deeply shaped my thoughts towards Sufism even
more. It was a great joy to have met you at the Sufi event in
Manchester June 2009. If was more than evident to me that you
reflected the teachings of your noble Shaykh.
May Shaykh Ibrahim al-Battawi (Radiallhu Anhu) have a noble
‘Urs-joyous occasion.
For surely “When Munkar and Nakeer question a person in the grave
about
Allah, Islam and the Holy Prophet sallalhu 'alayhi wa
sallam and the
person answers the questions successfully, they lovingly declare to
him, 'Sleep like the bride who will only be awakened by the beloved".
To a Wali his passing away is the culmination of a life-long yearning
to meet Allah and his beloved Prophet sallalhu 'alayhi wa sallam. It is
stated by the Sufi masters that death is a bridge which unites the
lover with his beloved. And ‘The Believer's Soul turns into
a Bird in Paradise’,
It says that upon the Believers death, his Soul becomes a bird in
Paradise until the Resurrection day, when Allah subhanahu watala
returns all souls to its original bodies.
This hadith reminders me of poetry, really and truly the best remedy
for solace for the heart in times of difficult and heart ache is best
found in poetry, for the heart is subtle-Latif. It is
through the
Lutf- Divine loving kindness of Allah that we find healing for all pain
and difficult in moments in our lives which happen.
“God turns you from one feeling to another and teaches by means
of
opposites, so that you will have two wings to fly, not one." - Mawlana
Rumi
“The Heart, in its journey to Allah subhanahu watala is like that
of a bird:
Love is its head, and fear and hope are its two wings.
When the head and two wings are sound the bird flies gracefully;
if the head is severed, the bird dies;
if the bird loses one of its wings,
it then becomes a target for every hunter or predator.”
- Hafiz Ibn Qayyim
al-Jawzi
And finally
I died from minerality and became vegetable;
And From vegetativeness I died and became animal.
I died from animality and became man.
Then why fear disappearance through death?
Next time I shall die
Bringing forth wings and feathers like angels;
After that, soaring higher than angels -
What you cannot imagine,
I shall be that.
- Mawlana Rumi
Subhallah this world is a prison for the believer and once we depart
are we free, and our souls became birds and we fly to
jannah-heaven
with wings of love just like the angels at peace and with our Lord
forever and forever - (Abadan abadaa)
(Allahumma-O Allah Ya latifu be gentle with us in all our affairs in
this world and the in the process of the next world
bi-hurmati-for the
sake of sayyiduna rasul-lillah sallalhu 'alayhi wa sallam wa Sidi
Abdal-Qadir jilani, Sidi Abu Madyan Ghawth, Sidi Ibn Mashish, Sidi Abul
Hasan shadhili and all the saints and masters of the way and
count
Sidi Ibrahim al-Battawi as one of the those saints and
guiding starts too – fatiha – Amina)

I wanted to offer my condolences regarding the passing of Sidi Ibrahim,
inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. I know he was a man who
prepared for his death and the akhira in this world, I'm sure this
thought brings comfort. However as is human nature, we miss
hearing the voice - of being in the physical presence of someone we
have come to love. For this I pray Allah, swt, brings comfort to
your heart, I keep you all in my dua as well as the soul of Sidi
Ibrahim.
Love and peace,
